Time-Lapse Precedent

Could watch time-lapse videos for hours on you tube but here are a few I thought were pretty cool. The final product is much smoother than my attempts. Probably due to experience, their technology, the spacing between shots and the play back frames per second.
They have managed to pan their camera which adds huge effect to the video as opposed to a static camera. I have tried to play with movement, zoom and panning but yet to get successful results as I can not do it slowly and smoothly enough so when I play it back in fast forward I do not get the same results.
